Stanley D. Hoffman, M.D.
Dr. Hoffman received two Bachelor of Science degrees in Life Science and Political Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the New York University Bellevue School of Medicine in 1974. He completed an Internal Medicine Internship at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore. His dermatology residency was at the State University of New York at Buffalo Affiliated Hospitals.

Dr. Hoffman has been practicing dermatology for over 30 years and has a special interest in rare and difficult dermatology cases. He makes extensive use of internet resources and dermatology services from Duke University Medical Center and Bowman Gray/Wake Forest. Dr. Hoffman specializes in Allergen patch testing which is done for allergic contact dermatitis. Surgical removal across the spectrum of benign lesions such as moles and warts to skin cancer is performed in the office with the most advanced surgical instrumentation on the market today.
Dr. Sandra Swanson, M.D.
A native of Nebraska, Dr. Swanson received her B.S. in Human Nutrition at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating as a Chancellor’s Scholar Magna Cum Laude. She attended medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society and graduated Cum Laude. After a residency in Pediatrics at UNMC, she completed a residency in Dermatology at UNC-Chapel Hill. She now has over 20 years of expertise in Dermatology.
Outside of Dermatology, Dr. Swanson especially enjoys time with her husband and daughter. Her interests also include traveling, cooking, baking, reading, and water activities.
Debra Powell, PA-C
Debra opened Waterside Dermatology and Laser Center in 2008. She received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Science degree from the Alderson Broaddus University. Debra brings over 22 years of clinical experience as a physician assistant and now specializes in both general and cosmetic dermatology. She especially enjoys diagnosing and treating all types of skin cancer, preforming surgical procedures as well treating difficult Psoriasis patients. She is trained and experienced in cosmetic dermatology including neuromodulators (Botox®), Fillers, Laser procedures including CO2 laser skin resurfacing. As a board certified Physician Assistant her clinical experience in dermatology spans all ages and a vast array of skin, hair and nail disorders. Debra is an active member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Debra enjoys participating in community events including skin cancer screenings. She encourages complete skin exams for all patients in the effort to decrease skin cancer and skin cancer mortality. Her compassionate care of all her patients leaves a lasting impression. Outside of clinical practice, Debra’s interests include traveling, gourmet cooking, and caring for her young daughter.
Heather Corbin is a certified physician assistant who is pleased to join our team at Waterside Dermatology and Laser Center and is looking forward to offering the comprehensive services we have available at Waterside Dermatology. She brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge in dermatology where she enjoys treating a variety of common skin conditions, performing minor skin surgeries, and a providing a variety of cosmetic dermatology procedures. She is especially interested in the treatment of all complex medical dermatology issues. Heather received a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from the University of Florida graduating Magna Cum Laude, a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Nova Southeastern University. She is a longtime member of The American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
Outside of the practice, Heather enjoys exercise, travel and spending time with friends and family.
